Hundreds turned out to welcome the Narrabri Markets back after three months on Saturday morning.

Families, kids and friends enjoyed the outing and a further return to pre-COVID normality.

Stallholders were set up early along the Selina Street ‘Open Space’ area and bargain hunters were not far behind them.

The weather was fine and by 9am the market area was filled with a large crowd enjoying the return to social gathering and socialising.

Narrabri Markets co-ordinator Tricia Hadley had ensured that necessary signage was in place reminding people of the need for caution in the context of COVID.

The monthly markets have been suspended since the onset of the pandemic at the end of March.

“The Markets are a popular social occasion, a chance for people to get together, meet up, chat and browse the stalls,” said Mrs Hadley.

“People come to the markets from out of town and continue in to town to shop before or after they visit the markets.”

The regular stall holders were there, including the Narrabri Lions Club gourmet barbecue, plus local and visiting vendors.
