As a decision on the future of the Narrabri Gas Project nears, supporters mobilised to demonstrate their backing for the development of a gas industry in the Narrabri Shire.
Supporters began to gather at The Crossing Theatre at 6am on Friday to voice their support at the event scheduled for 6.30am.
‘High vis’ gear was the order of the day as many of the gathering were local contractors working in the energy industries, alongside business people and members of the wider community.
“We hear a lot from the anti gas activists, but there is a silent majority which recognises the fantastic potential of the Narrabri Gas Project,” an organiser Louise Tout said.
“This includes many farmers, business people and members of the community. Friday was an opportunity for them to show their support, a vote for the future of our shire community, and the huge benefits the gas project will bring,” said Mrs Tout.
