Narrabri Rotary Club held its changeover at Narrabri RSL Club on Thursday night, July 9.

Rotarian of the Year was Kerrie Baumann, who has consistently excelled in her service to the club and the community.

Paul Harris Fellow awards for outstanding commitment to the ideals of Rotary and the Rotary Foundation were awarded to Winston Hayne, Pat Norrie and Joan Pyke.

The Paul Harris Fellow is named for the founder of Rotary, a Chicago lawyer who started our organisation with three business associates in 1905.

The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition is the Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs.

Similarly, the Narrabri Rotary contributes to the foundation and so may choose to designate a Paul Harris Fellow recognition as a tribute to an individual whose life demonstrates a shared purpose in line with the objectives of Rotary.

Each recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition joins a remarkable company of persons throughout the world, all recognised for their devotion to the ideals of goodwill, peace and understanding.

The Dark Horse award for 2019-20 was presented to Rob Walker.

When the club was unanimous in its support for the proposal to name the Narrabri Creek share pathway in honour of our friend and Rotarian Dr Bob Anderson it was Rob who seized the moment, doing an enormous amount of legwork securing the support of councils, other clubs, business groups and individuals.
