The widening of the Kamilaroi Highway from Turrawan towards Baan Baa is well underway. A reader recalls when the concept of a turning lane, or ‘slip road’, at the Turrawan Road – Kamilaroi turn off was first put forward in a council meeting many years ago. It was a good idea whose time hadn’t evidently come, but now has.
