Pedestrian access to Maitland Street businesses on the restricted section of the thoroughfare has been made a little easier with the creation of a crossing near MJ’s Newsagency.
Local businesses have felt the effects of low patronage as a result of the main street upgrade, although proprietors have agreed the construction works are a necessity.
Works will stop before December 1 to allow shoppers ease of access during the Christmas shopping period.
