Narrabri will have a new business in the main street in the new year.

Damian and Tiffany Galvin will open ‘Meat on Maitland’ butchery in the former Salmon’s Shoe Centre premises.

The Galvins, who have a long-established, multi-award-winning butchery and gourmet food store in Bingara, have built a clientele of local customers across the shire over the years.

“We are excited to be opening in Narrabri,” said Damian.

The couple is committed to catering to the growing district population and is looking forward to being part of the shire’s progress and they have bought a house in Narrabri.

Meat on Maitland’s spacious business premises are undergoing extensive renovations and Damian anticipates the shop will be open towards the end of February.

On Saturday afternoon, Damian and Tiffany hosted a Christmas ‘get together’ at The Tourist Hotel for some of their long-established customers, and new ones, which includes The Tourist Hotel.

Among those enjoying the event were Lindy McMicking – an ‘original’ long term customer – and suppliers to Meat on Maitland, prize- winning pork producers Jenny and Baden McDouall of Calco Enterprises.
