One of Narrabri’s popular community Christmas traditions, The Crossing Theatre’s carols night, again drew an audience of families, singers and those who just enjoy being part of the Christmas event, on Saturday.

The carols night was originally launched years ago as ‘Carols by Candlelight’ and was held outdoors, but the flickering candles were long ago replaced with more modern and safer battery-powered lights, and the event moved indoors this year.

Performers on the night were band members, Steve Bailey, Aaron Johnson, Jackson Wales, Rod Ritchie and James Madden.

Harmony Inc also performed comprising Darrell Tiemens, Mandy Brown, Lisa Hayne, Mary Whitehouse, David Shann and Lauren Brown.

Individual performers included Jenna Baxter, Gilly Goddard, Kodey Stanford and Lauren Brown.

“It was great to see the local community getting back together,” The Crossing Theatre venue manager Scott Pollock told The Courier.

“The kids had a ball, and it was amazing to think that all involved offered their time freely to make it happen,” he said.

“We’re very grateful for their efforts. Let’s hope the new year allows us to keep holding similar community events.”
