Boggabri’s upgraded caravan park is open for business following its $1.56 million upgrade.

The project saw the redevelopment the park including the construction of a new general amenities block, accessible ensuite amenities and a camp kitchen and laundry building.

Boggabri Business and Community Progress Association president John Shaw has welcomed council’s work on the facility.

“The Boggabri community needs to be proud of what it has,” he said.

“We need the community to take ownership of the caravan park.”

Since roadworks on the Mullaley Stock Route and Grain Valley Way have been completed, more caravans have been passing through the town.

Mr Shaw anticipates that numbers will continue to increase when Rangari Road is fully bitumised. He praised Pat Murphy and former council employee Tan Vo for their roles in the redevelopment.

Long-time caravan park resident Brian Fuller echoed similar sentiments about council’s efforts.

Mayor Ron Campbell said the reopening of the caravan park is great for the community of Boggabri
particularly now when the town is seeing many projects running concurrently.

“The caravan park provides an additional accommodation option for travellers and possibly those in town working on some of the projects that are currently underway,” he said.

“With the construction of the shared amenities building, the park is now available to people who wish to pitch a tent and camp.

“Council has worked closely throughout the entire project with members of the Boggabri Business and Community Progress Association, particularly with president John Shaw, ensuring updates and consultation was provided regularly as the project evolved.

“The park is now open and operational.”
