The weekend was a busy one for Narrabri Sporties’ bowlers, the highlight of which was a Mixed Fours match played in Narrabri on Sunday morning which went down to the wire.
The team of Helen Woodward, Eva Sadler, Ian Macmillan (who subbed for Preston Clark) and Trinity Kelly had a very narrow win over Di Chessells (who subbed for Ronnie Dewar), Kay Carolan, Rob Wolters and Scott Dewar.
The score was 20-all after 21 ends which meant that an extra end was required to decide the winner.
Kelly’s team scored three on that extra end to win the game 23-20.
On Saturday, the Narrabri men’s grade three pennants team travelled to Inverell for their round three match.
Narrabri won on one rink but went down on the other two rinks to lose by a combined 73-50.
The team of Trinity Kelly, Dave Dewar, Steve Daskey, Ian Macmillan were won their game 19-12.
Paul Crutcher, Laurie Gilbert, Rob Wolters, Scott Dewar were defeated 31-12 and Kevin Baguley, Norm Walford, Len Ryan and Tony Redman went down 30-19.
Narrabri now has two home games remaining and will play Inverell this Saturday at 11.30am.

On Saturday afternoon, eight players enjoyed Russian roulette bowls at Narrabri Sporties. The winner on 32 points was Ron Ryan. Second was Lyn Wedesweiler on 21, then Trish Allison 20, David Briggs 19, Graham Rose 18, Helen Woodward 18, Di Chessells 8 and Kay Carolan 8.
