Northwest Speedway Club Narrabri will host its second race night of the 2020-21 season on Saturday at the Newtown Park Speedway.
Drivers from across the Narrabri Shire will be joined by travelling competitors in the Formula 500s, Fast Fours, AMCA Nationals, RSA Street Stockers, Fender Benders, Junior 500s and Junior Sedans divisions.
It is a program so packed that the usual 6pm start time has been pushed back to 5pm to fit all of the racing in.
Relaxed social distancing restrictions have allowed the club to host a larger crowd than it was able to at its most recent meeting back in December.
Northwest Speedway Club Narrabri president Scott Connole said tickets were selling out fast ahead of what will be an action-packed event.
“We can have double the numbers now, we were capped at 500 including drivers, pit crew and in-field staff and volunteers in December,” Connole said.
“That is 1000 now and we expect 900 of those will be spectators.
“Tickets must be purchased online, and by all accounts they are selling out quick so it looks like it’ll be another good night out at the speedway at our last meeting of the season.”
This week’s rain could be a nuisance, but Connole said that it was benefitting the track.
“If we don’t get too much more rain it’ll be perfect,” he said on Tuesday morning.
‘The track holds up quite well with all the moisture, the only problem could be the pits and spectator area might be a bit wet.
“But from a track point of view the rain will be doing it wonders.”
