Give Martha Harvey a footy and you can guarantee she’ll make magic happen.

The 16-year-old Narrabri Junior Rugby Club gun is going from strength to strength and continues to impress in the rugby union arena.

Whether it be at Dangar Park bringing the home crowd to its feet or interstate on representative duty, she is consistently becoming the star of the show.

Martha, the daughter of Carmel and Denis Harvey, enjoyed a breakout year in 2020 which included earning the reputation as one of the best players in the under-16 girls’ North West Regional Youth Rugby Friday night competition and also excelling for Central North at the NSW State Sevens Championships.

Her performances across the year and at that state carnival saw her earn selection into the NSW under-17s sevens train-on squad at the start of this year and just last month she was selected into Central North’s under-18s girls squad for 2021.

However, Martha’s most recent accolade was her most significant one yet.

That was selection into the NSW academy of Rugby Australia’s emerging sevens squad which is designed to identify future Australian female international players and help them fulfil their potential.

Martha’s star power is not only limited to rugby union.

She was crowned a 2020-21 Narrabri Touch Inc A-grade ladies’ champion with Agies Ladies following a 6-1 grand final victory on Monday night and was also named the ladies’ player of the season at the association’s awards presentation event.
