Zone 3 Bowls State Triples sectional play will be contested this weekend across eight venues including the Wee Waa Bowling Club.

There will only be two games in action at Wee Waa which will both be finals played on Saturday morning.

A home team will challenge a travelling Narrabri team in the State Triples competition. That will see Wee Waa’s Cody Booby, Todd Cowan and Justin Knight take on Narrabri Sporties’ Dave Dewar, Norm Walford and Kevin Baguley.

In President’s Reserve Triples, Wee Waa’s Kyne, Peter and Dusty Allen will go head-to-head with a travelling Collarenebri team including John Flick, Geoff Knight and Lawrence Walford.

Both games will be played from 9am on Saturday morning.

Only one team nominated to play in the Senior Triples competition which was Wee Waa’s Peter Hennessy, Clancy Hamilton and Phil Lawford who now advance to the zone finals which will be played at Lightning Ridge on Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18.

The winners of the two games in Wee Waa on Saturday morning will also advance to the zone finals.

Sectional matches will also be played at Armidale, Gunnedah, Inverell, Lightning Ridge, Moree, Tamworth and Uralla this weekend.

Meanwhile, the 2021 NSW Interzone Juniors Seven-a-Side Championships are being contested in Dubbo this week.

The Zone 3 Bowls team consists of the following:
Singles – Tim Thorning (Gunnedah Services), Pairs – Shania Bell (Inverell Sporties) and Tara Stewart (West Tamworth), Fours – Lucy Hooker (West Tamworth), Hunter Doring (Wee Waa), Dustyn Allen (Wee Waa) and Zoe Stewart (West Tamworth)

Wee Waa Bowling Club’s Brett Pillar is the team manager.
