Six life memberships to the Narrabri Show Society were presented at the event’s official opening on Friday night.

The inductees gathered on stage in the rodeo ring as the crowd gathered around the perimeter of the steel fence to witness the opening ceremony.

Pattie Lettice delivered a moving welcome to country before Narrabri Show secretary Bec Cope started the proceedings.

Ms Cope introduced Minister for Water, Property and Housing, Melinda Pavey, to announce Showgirl competition winners and the organisation’s newest life members.

Mrs Pavey, who visited the showgrounds earlier this year to announce almost $1 million to fund additional improvements around the facility, had the honour of opening this year’s event.

New life members inducted at the show were Trevor Atkinson, Irene Tomlinson, Brownyn Clarke, Dawn Armstrong and father-and-son show duo Brian and Jason Orman.

The life memberships honour their years of committment to the show.
