In the coming weeks Beres Urch will be leaving Narrabri to move to Jimboomba Signature Aged Care in Queensland, close to where her daughter Lynette Miller lives.

Mrs Urch, 91, moved to Narrabri from Ettalong 58 years ago in 1963 with her husband Jack Urch who took up a position with Narrabri Shire Council as its soil analyst.

Upon arrival in Narrabri, they lived in Manning Street before residing in Villarette Avenue.

The couple had two children Peter and Lynette (now Miller) and were actively involved in the community.

Mrs Urch worked as an assistant at the Narrabri Public School canteen and she is a life member of the Narrabri Craft Shop.

Mr Urch passed away in June 2002 and in 2014 Mrs Urch moved to Whiddon’s Dr AJ Park Memorial Village units in Dangar Street.

When Mrs Urch celebrated her 90th birthday, a highlight was a Harley Davidson ride around the Gold Coast.

Mrs Urch will be missed by her friends in Narrabri who wish her well in her new home.
