This year’s Maules Creek Campdraft was a very special one for Ron and Jill Ison, who were presented their life membership badges.

Having been members of the club since its inception a decade ago, Ron and Jill are very deserving of this acknowledgment.

“Ron is an invaluable member of our committee, supported by Jill, and is at every working bee ready to lend a hand with machinery, cattle and advice,” Maules Creek Campdraft publicity officer Marty Beckett said.

“Being able to call on someone with Ron’s general experience of being the go-to man to get things done has been a huge help.

“It means so much to us, having them help out every year, especially since they don’t compete in the campdraft themselves – they’re purely there to offer their support.”

Long-time locals of the Maules Creek community, and sitting on a range of committees throughout their time in the area, the Ison’s have become an invaluable asset to the community.

“Ron and Jill Ison are a perfect example of what community spirit is all about,” Mr Beckett said.

“We thank Ron and Jill for their commitment to the Maules Creek Campdraft Club – it’s an honour to recognise these two people who’ve been with us since the beginning.

“That’s why the committee thought it fitting to present the life membership badges to them on the 10th anniversary of our draft.”
