Around 30 pupils from Pilliga and Gwabegar Public Schools took part in an NDCAS colour run on Friday, May 7.

After the Pilliga students finished their annual cross country race, they gathered with the Gwabegar students on the school’s football field.

They lined up in small groups, ahead of a path that featured NDCAS workers, parents and teachers on the sidelines, who helped distribute the colourful chalk.

NDCAS provided the children with white shirts to really amplify the rainbow of colours they were decorated with, and sunglasses to keep their eyes safe.

Each volunteer had their own 10kg box of colour to throw at the students as they ran along the short track, turning the white shirts into a mixture of colours.

With so much chalk to go around, the students did the track twice.

They were all given showbags at the end of the colour run, which featured NDCAS-funded treats like stickers, pencils and colouring-in books.

The next NDCAS colour run will take place at the Narrabri Speedway on Saturday, May 22, at 11am.

It will be a free event for all ages.
