Auscott grew from a single 2800 hectare farm near Narrabri in 1963 to operations spanning multiple valleys.

Auscott has played a leading role in the shaping of Australia’s cotton industry since it was founded by the JG Boswell Company more than 50 years ago.

Auscott Namoi Valley has been interwoven into the agricultural and community life of the Narrabri district for those five decades, employing many local people and playing a supportive role for generations of cotton farmers.

Two Arizonan farmers, suppported by the Boswell Company, established Auscott in the 1960s.

The 1700 hectares of cotton planted at Narrabri was the first large scale private irrigation enterprise in NSW.

Auscott acquired land at Warren in the Macquarie Valley and built its third cotton gin and another at Trangie.

In the 1970s, Auscott awarded its first Education Scholarship, expanding to four annual scholarships.

Auscott established operations in the Gwydir Valley at Moree in the 1970s and aquired ‘Midkin’ near Moree.

Consolidated Press Holdings acquired Auscott but sold it back to the Boswell Company in 1990.

In the 2000s, Auscott bought ‘Togo’ and ‘Appletrees’ properties and Narrabri warehouses and rail siding.

Auscott expanded farming and ginning operations into Murrumbidgee Valley and in 2018 Auscott passed 16 million bales production.

In 2019, the Auscott Midkin aggregation was sold.
