Wee Waa-based specialist agri-retailer Cotton Growers Services has announced the appointment of Simon Chorley to the role of national sales manager.

Mr Chorley’s appointment follows the resignation of Peter White who is leaving CGS after a 33-year career to take up a new management role with Cotton Seed Distributors based in Wee Waa.

“We thank Peter for his significant contribution to CGS and particularly to our customers,” said CGS CEO Steve Ainsworth.

“Peter has a reputation for being focused on the needs of customers and is driven to provide solutions which deliver greater value to our customers.

“We will miss working with Peter and we wish him all the very best at CSD.”

Simon Chorley began his career at CGS some 11 years ago as a cadet agronomist at CGS Dalby following completion of a Bachelor of Science degree at UQ, Gatton.

He held agronomy and branch management roles and currently is CGS regional manager in the Lower Namoi Valley.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Ainsworth said: “It is pleasing to have a depth of talent at CGS where our people are skilled, experienced and capable to take on new opportunities”.

Simon commented: “I am looking forward to working across the business with our branch management and agronomy teams.

“Particularly, I am keen to meet and reacquaint myself with our customers in NSW, Queensland and spend time assisting our customers developing cropping systems in northern Australia.”

Simon Chorley will take on the role on June 21 following a period of transition with Peter White.
