Long-time former Narrabri resident Beres Urch celebrated her 92nd birthday at her new home, Jimboomba Aged Care in Queensland on Thursday, August 12.

Beres moved from Whiddon’s retirement village in May 2021 to Queensland to be near her daughter Lynette Miller and grandchildren Justin and Jake Miller.

Beres’ son Peter’s eldest daughter Melanie Purcell, also lives nearby with great-grandchildren Joshua and Isaac Purcell.

Beres also has three other grandchildren – Kristen and Daniel residing in Newcastle, and Jacqueline who lives in Sydney.

Beres is blessed with two other great grandchildren, Kristen’s daughter Isabella and Jacqueline’s daughter Olivia.

Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, no one from NSW could travel to celebrate with Beres.

Beres still enjoyed her birthday celebrations at her new home and also celebrated with her daughter Lynette at Lynette’s home.

Lynette arranged a lovely surprise for Beres and organised for former Narrabri resident and long-time friend Pat Baker to join them at Lynette’s house.

Pat recently moved to Queensland and has been friends with Beres for 50 years.
