The body of missing Narrabri man Glenn Warren was found in the Namoi River on Monday afternoon.

Police were joined by other local emergency services for a wide-scale search of the river last week and were assisted by the police rescue unit, dog unit and helicopter.

While the expansive search was disbanded last week, additional searches of the surrounding area saw police discover the body of the 51-year-old man about 1.30pm.

Mr Warren was last seen in Narrabri leaving a tourist village on Cooma Road on August 13.

After being notified of his disappearance, police started inquiries into his whereabouts.

Mr Warren’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
