By The Country Education Foundation of the Namoi

The Country Education Foundation of the Namoi (CEFN) has been operating in the community since 2002 and in that time, we have as a community supported over 204 students to better their tertiary education and training.

We have supported students to attend universities, TAFE, Community Colleges and we have supported apprentices and those doing traineeships.

It has been amazing how many of those students have come back to be active members of our community to live, work and raise their own families.

The CEFN relies solely on the generosity of the community to raise funds to support this worthy program.

Many of our students would not be able to pursue their dreams or further their education without a little extra financial support.

The CEFN offers this in the way of small grants that help support the students’ accommodation needs, travel, textbooks, computers and the list goes on.

Our small committee is made up of people from all areas of the community who volunteer their time to mentor and support the students and organise fundraising events.

As you can imagine, we are suffering like all not-for-profit organisations who rely on community fundraising events with the current COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns.

We are expecting an influx of student applications this year as many of our local students would not have been able to work and earn money to help support themselves as they would have in normal circumstances.

We appreciate that the last two years have been hard on everyone in our community struggling with droughts, fires and floods.

This year we are looking for assistance from the community to help support our students by way of donations or sponsorship.

If you wish to help out financially or be part of a great enthusiastic committee passionate about our young people, we would love to hear from you.
