Narrabri Shire Council has voiced concern and its extreme frustration with recent acts of vandalism.

In a statement, a council spokesperson said there had been a noticeable spike in acts of vandalism on council maintained, community infrastructure.

Narrabri Community kiosk toilets were damaged with graffiti spray painted on internal walls.

At the Narrabri Town Clock toilet, graffiti was placed on internal walls.

Pirate Park toilet was set on fire with grass and rubbish dumped inside the toilet and set alight.

Following on from recent reports of vandalism acts at Narrabri Lawn Cemetery, there was additional breaking of ornaments from graves on cemetery access roads.

The Wee Waa Green Space’s street furniture set was also set alight.

“Ultimately to clean up and repair assets that have been damaged by selfish acts of vandalism comes at a cost, and that cost is to the detriment of the community,” a council spokesperson said.

“All acts of vandalism sustained to council assets have been reported to police.”

Any members of the community with information regarding these acts of vandalism can contact the Narrabri Police Station on 6792 7199.
