Narrabri Shire’s second dose vaccination rate is nearing 60 per cent, the latest Commonwealth government data shows.
The shire is also not far from hitting 90 per cent first dose.
As at October 3, the first dose rate was 87.8 per cent while the second dose rate was 58.8 per cent.
In the previous reporting period, Narrabri Shire’s vaccination levels were at 83.9 per cent first dose and 48.1 per cent second dose.
The change month-on-month shows a far greater increase following increased supply of Pfizer vaccinations.
In early September, the first dose level was 59.9 per cent and second dose was at 25.6 per cent.
At a statewide level, 67.5 per cent of eligible residents were fully vaccinated while 88.5 per cent had received at least one immunisation by the start of this week.
In other COVID-related news, further testing was carried out at the sewage treatment plants in Narrabri and Wee Waa on Tuesday, September 28.
Both samples returned a negative detection to the virus.
The treatment plants are tested at the direction of NSW Health as part of the Sewage Surveillance Program conducted across the state.
To date, all samples collected from the Narrabri and Wee Waa plants have returned negative detections to the virus.
