Logan & Co Furniture and Bedding has been recognised this month for its massive business growth during the 2020-21 financial year.

The business received a gold award from Furniture Court.

The plaque would typically be presented at a ceremony, but was instead mailed to the business due to COVID restrictions on large indoor gatherings.

The Narrabri team graciously accepted the honour, crediting the local community for the win.

“We really want to shout-out the Narrabri Shire for their support over the last 12 months, especially given the pandemic,” manager Jo Westman said.

“COVID has caused delays in shipping and stock shortages, not to mention us having to close our doors throughout the second lockdown, so we really thank you for your patience and commitment to buying local.

“This award is a testament to your support – we couldn’t have done it without you.”

The store is still operating on limited business hours, opening at 10am and closing at 3pm each weekday.

This is due to change as of Monday, November 1, at which time the business will return to normal trading hours until at least the Christmas period is over.

And, with the holiday season fast approaching, Logan & Co is already busier than ever.

The business’ catalogue sale also recently started, causing keen shoppers to flock to the Maitland Street business.

The local team has been working every day, from open to close, and Mrs Westman says she’s proud to be offering substantial hours to all five employees.

“We’ve been flat out, reaching our sales targets just a couple of hours after opening the doors some days,” team member Katrina Fox said.

“We’ve had plenty of walk-in customers, the phone has been ringing off the hook, and our deliverymen have been hard at work – it’s great to see.”

The incentive to buy local is encouraged even further by Logan & Co’s award-winning industry insight.

“We often have customers come in, looking for something in particular, and we can usually help them find it in-store,” Mrs Westman said.

“And if we don’t have the stock here, we’re able to order it in for them.

“Our experienced team has an eye for furniture and bedding, so we can make a variety of suitable recommendations based on each individual customer’s needs.”

More excitement lies ahead for Logan & Co, with additional sales and stock expansion planned in the coming months.

After winning the gold award for growth during over the last financial year, the team is looking ahead with a continued focus on this area.

As well as a number of upcoming sales – which will be advertised in The Courier – the store is set to expand its range into baby’s items and linen.

“From the start of December, the shop will have a room dedicated to baby-specific stock to make the preparation process for new parents that little bit easier,” Mrs Westman said.

“With Target Country now shut down, we’re working on expanding to take on the increased demand in these areas.

“We hope that, by catering to customers looking for such products, we can improve local accessibility to homewares.”
