Karina Bourke was elected president for the Boggabri Swimming Club’s 2021-22 season at the club’s annual general meeting on Monday.

She will be assisted by Casey Bassett (vice-president), Kristy Moore (secretary/registrar), Frances Jackson (treasurer/publicity officer), and Sarah
Offerman (publicity officer).

The committee told The Courier that it was looking forward to the weather warming up and starting its club nights on Monday, November 8.

The club, which is affiliated with Swimming New South Wales, advised that its fees will remain the same as last season to enable families to use the active kids $100 vouchers.

While most of the swimmers in Boggabri are social swimmers who flock to the pool for fun, exercise, or to improve their techniques for school competitions, they can also participate at the highest level if they choose to compete at district, region and state comps.

The Boggabri Swimming Club committee is made up entirely of volunteers who are there to help the children enjoy the club’s activities and to also support and encourage swimmers to pursue their personal goals.

Boggabri Swimming Club caters for all ages and stages of swimming.

Club nights include events for everyone, from young ones who need a little help paddling across the pool to others who can competently swim either a full lap or longer distances in all four strokes.
