Narrabri’s Remembrance Day commemoration will go ahead this Thursday, November 11, in a modified format due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The commemoration will be held similar to last year’s Remembrance Day service.

It will not be open for the public to attend due to the health regulations imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Narrabri RSL sub-branch, however, has ensured that the annual commemoration which honours the armistice that ended World War I has proceeded in some format.

Invited dignitaries will be present at the war memorial outside the RSL on Maitland Street on Thursday morning for the traditional wreath-laying ceremonies as well as the recital of the Ode of Remembrance.

Members of the public will be able to watch the Narrabri Remembrance Day commemoration live on The Courier’s Facebook page on Thursday morning.

Photographs from the service and a report of the morning’s proceedings will feature in next Tuesday’s Courier.
