The Crossroads Hotel was buzzing on Saturday November 13, and there was much to celebrate with the premises opening its doors once again for accommodation, pub meals, refreshments, music and dancing.

For a country that was lagging behind in the ‘COVID zero’ attempt to fully eliminate the virus, it’s been a frustrating time for patrons and hospitality venues alike during the past eighteen months.

Now, after months of public compliance, case numbers are falling, and many believe the country is on track to fully vaccinate 90 per cent of its population if not more.

Local band Nuffin Butta provided the entertainment for the evening and proprietor Dave Hamel was pleased to see a return to a pre-COVID crowd.

“It was great to be back on track again”, he said.
