The Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Christmas tree has been given a makeover with a collection of brand-new decorations bought with money donated by Whitehaven Coal.

The tree was erected on the Narrabri Post Office side lawn with the help of a faithful, well organised and dedicated band of volunteers on Sunday.

Unlike previous years when the heat has been horrific, Sunday dawned cool and overcast.

“The Chamber is grateful to Alfabs Hire for the loan of the cherry picker, to Santos for the safety gear, GFS Engineering, and Australia Post for allowing the use of its side lawn,” a Chamber spokesman said.

Since 2014 the Chamber of Commerce Christmas tree has brightened the CBD and enchanted little children as well as the young at heart.
