The Narrabri Garden Club held its AGM and final meetings for the year at the Narrabri Golf Club on November 10.

Elections were held for the incoming 2022 committee.

Elected office bearers are president Wendy McNair, vice presidents Jenni Hayne and Noeline Kiss (re-elected), secretary Sue Waugh, catering supervisor Lyn Tuckey, public officer Ruth White, and Elizabeth Spicer in charge of publicity.

The treasurer’s position remains vacant as 2021 treasurer Janet Baylis did not seek re-election.

President Wendy McNair addressed the meeting with her report and acknowledged the difficulties of 2021 for the club with continuing COVID regulations preventing many of its usual garden visits and trips.

A highlight of the year was when the club held a meeting in the George Foxe pavilion at the Narrabri Showground, the club’s last meeting held in the hall before the building was demolished.

This was a gala event with flora craft displays by the garden club ladies.

Next year will be a big year for the club with the NSWFAA flower show being staged at the Narrabri RSL Club and preparations for the Narrabri Garden Club’s 50th birthday celebrations.

Additionally, the Narrabri club has been asked to host the Garden Club Zone Picnic Day, hosted each year by different clubs throughout the region, which will be held at The Crossing Theatre in 2022.
