The 2022 segment of Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2021-22 campaign will get underway tomorrow when the season resumes with the first round of the second grade T20 competition.

Two matches will be played under lights, which will see the defending champions RSL take on Tourist Hotel at Collins Park and Tourist Sports Bar challenge Tatts at Hogan Oval.

The NDCA’s second grade short format season was initially scheduled to be played across six rounds, which would have seen the four teams meet all opposition sides twice. However, the matches scheduled for October 30 and November 6 and 13 were all washed out.

The teams will now play against one another once ahead of the grand final under lights at Collins Park on Friday, January 27.

Meanwhile, the first grade one day competition will resume on Saturday.

An amended draw was agreed on at an NDCA board meeting early last month, which was called to discuss the remainder of the season after all games, with the exception of a second grade forfeit, were washed out and declared draws during the first six weeks of the campaign.

Play went ahead in one of those rounds on Saturday, November 20, which has now been recognised as round one of the one day comps for both first grade and second grade on the new draw.

While the second grade one day season will not resume until next month, the first grade competition will hit the ground running in two days’ time.

The round two fixtures will see the defending champions RSL challenge Tatts at Leitch Oval, and the Western Razorbacks take on Tourist Hotel at Hogan Oval this Saturday.
