The 12th and final round of Narrabri Junior Soccer Club’s 2022 regular season for the two competitive age divisions was contested on Saturday morning.
The final standings were set in stone at the completion of the four matches, which allowed the finals fixtures to be locked in.
In the under-14-17 comp, Tyreright FC and CSD met at Gately Field in a battle for the minor premiership.
They both went into the last round having won five times, lost twice and drawn against one another, and so the winner of their 12th-round match would finish on top of the table.
Tyreright FC got the job done with a 4-1 win to move to 19 points as CSD was forced to settle for second on 16 points.
McDonald’s finished four points adrift of CSD after winning its final-round game 3-0 at Hogan Oval against the Wee Waa United FC side, Shearin Excavations.
That was McDonald’s fourth win of the year to go with five losses, while Shearin Excavations finished on six points after winning two matches during the 2022 campaign and losing their other seven.
The round 12 opponents will meet one another again on Saturday during the first weekend of Narrabri Junior Soccer Club’s finals series.
Both games will be played at Gately Field, with the major semi-final game between TyreRight FC and CSD set to kick off at 9am, and then the minor semi-final between McDonald’s and Shearin Excavations scheduled from 10.30am.
The winner of the major semi-final will progress straight through to the September 17 grand final, while the loser will play on September 10 in the preliminary finals.
The winner of the minor semi-final will advance to the preliminary final, while the loser will be eliminated.
