Narrabri Shire was well represented at the NRL grand final with a 12-strong contingent of The Courier’s annual tipping competition winners taking their seats at Accor Stadium for the big game.

COVID-forced grand final disruptions meant that the competition winners were unable to attend the end-of-season finale since 2019.

“Demand for tickets was huge, and they sold out fast,” said The Courier manager Wanda Dunnet.

“But we bought all the seats needed to provide the winners’ prizes.”

The winning tipsters won two return air tickets each to Sydney and two tickets each to the grand final courtesy of The Courier.

Sydney five-star luxury hotel Raddison Blu again generously sponsored Friday and Saturday night accommodation for the winners of The Courier and The Gunnedah Times readers’ tipping competitions and Business House Challenges.

Tipsters were enthusiastic about the hospitality and accommodation at the Radisson Blu. “Just fantastic – no effort was spared,” one told The Courier.

“And the grand final atmosphere was amazing – imagine being part of an 85,000 strong crowd singing along with Jimmy Barnes’ Working Class Man!”
