Narrabri Rugby League Football Club announced that Kyle Trindall will be the under-18s side’s coach for 2023 earlier this month.

In a statement on social media, the Blues said they were pleased to have the former Narrabri junior looking after the next crop of young players coming through.

“Kyle has played junior and senior footy with Wee Waa and Narrabri,” the club said.

“So great to see these young men step up and teach our junior Blues what has been passed down to them.

“For those 18s players that may not already know, training is Wednesday and Friday, 6.30pm at Collins Park.”

Meanwhile, the posts at Collins Park went up on Monday, with the 2023 Group 4 season around the corner.

The new campaign will kick off on Saturday, April 15, and Narrabri Blues will host Dungowan in a home fixture at Collins Park that day.

The Blues only leave the shire once during the first five rounds, with three of their first four games to be played at home followed by a round five fixture in Boggabri.

The Blues’ two fixtures after that are in Gunnedah and Narrabri, and then the second half of the season will see the club do the bulk of its travelling.

However, two of the club’s last three regular season matches will be played at home when Narrabri welcomes Boggabri on Mental Health Day on July 16 and then hosts Gunnedah on July 23 in Indigenous Round.

Other key dates on the calendar for the Blues are the Bernie Briggs Day away from home against Moree Boars on June 18, and then Narrabri Rugby League Football Club’s ladies’ day at

home against North Tamworth the following weekend on June 24.

There are eight first grade teams this season which will contest a 14-round home and away regular season that wraps up on July 30, ahead of finals.

Before the season arrives, Narrabri will host Boggabri for trial games in all grades on Saturday, April 1.
