The honour of life membership of the Narrabri Probus Club was awarded to Max Pringle OAM on Tuesday, June 13.
A member since 2005-6, Mr Pringle has held the position of president of the club in 2013/14 and also as secretary intermittently for 10 years.
“Gordon Cain, also a life member, and I were delighted to award Max this prestigious honour,” said Narrabri Probus president Stuart Barnes.
“He is a treasured active member of the club and a well-deserving recipient.”
The local poet, author and historian knew nothing of the proposed award and received a welcome surprise at Tuesday’s meeting.
“I have enjoyed my years with the Probus Club and helping out where I can,” said Mr Pringle.
“It is a great club to belong to and I have gained many good memories and long-standing friendships, all of which I look forward to in the continuation of my membership in the years to come.”
