Narrabri knows how to celebrate when the annual Melbourne Cup date comes around.

For those who couldn’t be trackside for the big day, the race saw local party-goers head out to watch the horses and fashions on big screens across the township.

Jockey Mark Zahra had a clear win on ‘Without A Fight’ with no competitors on his tail along the last stretch of the Flemington straight.

With the second Melbourne Cup in succession in his keeping, Zahra is the first jockey since Glen Boss on Makybe Diva to win consecutive Caulfield-Melbourne Cups.

Second, third and fourth places were taken home by Soulcombe, Sheraz and Ashrun respectively.
