Boggabri United Hospital Auxiliary hosted a winter fashion parade as a fundraiser for the Boggabri Hospital/Multi-Purpose Service on Monday at the very supportive Boggabri RSL Club.
Many donations were received and very welcomed by the auxiliary as they are working on a project to replace the televisions in the four acute care rooms at the hospital.
While the numbers attending were down on last year the executive were happy with the results.
A preliminary count has yielded around $1500 profit for the day.
The delicious morning tea was catered for by the members of the auxiliary and the latest fashions were from Hassab’s Fashion and Giftware with local models on the catwalk.
The trading table was laden with pot plants, flowers, jams, sauces, cooking, sewing and knitted handicraft.
There were lots of sparkling jewellery by the end of the day as a cleaning and inspection was available with the proceeds also being donated.
President Del O’Connell welcomed the attendees and gave an update on the items that the auxiliary have presented to the hospital this financial year.
Items include a speciality bed, two mattresses, a vein finder, gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, International Nurses Day, Easter, Christmas and Christmas cheer and items for the activity room.
These items have totalled just under $30,000.
The Boggabri Auxiliary was thrilled that the president and a friend from Barraba United Hospital came to support the day.
