SIAHTO celebrated a successful year at its changeover dinner held at the Narrabri RSL last Tuesday night.
The SIAHTO dinner is a much-loved fixture on the community calendar as it is also the occasion where the organisation announces the recipient of the Woman of the Year award.
As detailed on the front page of today’s Courier, that honour was presented to Joanne Gordon in recognition of her dedication to family and the community. Following the Woman of the
Year announcement, changeover celebrations continued as SIAHTO thanked outgoing president Sharyn Norrie for a successful year at the organisation’s helm.
Life memberships were awarded to Pat Hardgrave and Karen Fenton, acknowledging their contribution to SIAHTO across many years.
The Motivation Award and the Friendship Award were both presented to Tracey Thompson.
Foundation member Noeline Kiss announced that this year’s major donation of $1000 would go towards Narrabri and District Community Aid Service’s Community Christmas Drive. NDCAS representatives were in attendance and accepted the generous donation provided by the organisation.
