Narrabri Probus celebrated Father’s Day a bit later than usual this year with lunch at the RSL Outback Shack on Tuesday, October 7.
An afternoon of lunch and great company, it was wonderful to see the Probus group come together as a community in celebration.
POET’S CORNER
The Probus Club’s Father’s Day
by Max Pringle OAM
This year Father’s Day at Probus
Has been held a little late,
The food was still as excellent
And the atmosphere was great.
We held it at the RSL
Where we’ve held them in the past,
However, this year Father’s Day
Came on us a little fast.
There’s always something going on
And this they had a trip,
And so with so much on their mind
Father’s Day happened to slip.
It will still be quite successful
As those in the past have been,
And it all gets put down to those
Who work hard behind the scene.
We’ll celebrate most anything
As by now I’d say you guess,
We’re all quite used to partying
And settle for nothing less.
There will be a tinge of sadness
As Will Brooks now moves away,
To take up a brand new challenge
And we’ll miss him we all say.
Remember our next meeting
Will held out Wee Waa way,
It will be a special outing
As it’s on Melbourne Cup day.
New members are always welcome
If you’d like to come along,
The first Tuesday of every month
And join up, you can’t go wrong.
