The Boggabri RSL Sub-branch president, Steve Eather, led a meaningful ceremony attended by the residents of the John Prior Multi-Purpose Service on Friday in acknowledgment of Remembrance Day.
During the event, attendees paused to reflect on the tremendous sacrifices made by Australian service men and women, both past and present, and acknowledged the unwavering support offered by their families and friends.
A memorial table was available for residents to display photos and memorabilia.
June Bennett and Neil Kemmis both had photos of their parents who had served in the armed forces.
Jean Phelps had a photo of her grandson, who lost his life in Afghanistan, a powerful reminder of the ongoing impact of service and the sacrifices made by members of the Australian Defence Forces and their families.
Following the service, Mr Eather and fellow sub-branch members, David Grover and Peter Hall enjoyed morning tea and a yarn with the residents.
