The Namoi Dragon Boat Club held a Halloween-themed trivia night on Friday, October 31 at Narrabri RSL Club, as part of its fundraising event, where a lot of attendees looked ready for some trick-or-treating action.
Namoi Dragons Club member Jenna Fladrick said it was a very successful night.
“We raised a total of $840, with all proceeds going directly back into the Namoi Dragon Boat Club to support its ongoing development,” Jenna said.
“This was the second time Club Narrabri has supported us by providing a venue.
“The first occasion was in May for our inaugural trivia night, which took place in the auditorium at the Bowling Club.
“The event had a Halloween theme, and many attendees arrived dressed in creative costumes.
“Witches were the most common choice, and the festive atmosphere added to the fun of the evening.”
Jenna said the feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Everyone I have spoken to thoroughly enjoyed the evening and is already looking forward to our next trivia night, which we hope to hold in March or April next year,” Jenna said.
“The winning team was called Spooky Squad, and I believe they also won our first trivia night earlier this year,” she said.
As previously mentioned, the funds will help cover the cost of equipment and other essential expenses such as boat trailer registration fees.
“These contributions allow us to continue building the club and hosting more community events in the future,” Jenna said.
Both Jenna and Aimee Fladrick have taken the lead in organising and running the trivia nights.
Researching all of the questions and preparing the slideshows to ensure the events run smoothly.
“We are very grateful to the rest of the club for their ongoing support and willingness to help in any way they can.
“We take care of most of the preparation so that other members can simply relax and enjoy the evening with their friends and families.
“Hosting and reading out the questions was an incredible experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed the night.
“I am already looking forward to planning and hosting the next trivia event.”
