The meet and greet of the Stars of Narrabri Dance for Cancer launch was held at the Narrabri Bowling Club on Friday, November 7.

Stars Of Narrabri is back and better than ever with 11 wonderful locals who are about to strap on their dancing shoes and start learning routines with our fabulous dance partners and teachers from InMotion and Solasta Dance studios.

For those who do not already know, this amazing fundraiser is all about local identities getting out of their comfort zones to help raise vital funds for Cancer Council’s support services.

Dance For Cancer will take place March 28, 2026 at The Crossing Theatre, with tickets going on sale in late January.

The Stars Of Narrabri had a small meet and greet on Friday, November 7, at the Narrabri Bowling Club for the stars, their partners, dance teachers and dancers.

Community fundraising coordinator for Cancer Council NSW, Sally-Anne Whitten, said it was the perfect night for mingling and getting the stars ready for the limelight.

“It was a casual, low-key night, but great to meet all our stars and have a chat to them all about their inspiration to take part in this event,” Sally said.

“Great to see them all start to get ready for the limelight too, by posing for their professional headshots.”

Funds raised by the stars, and at the Dance For Cancer event, go towards life-saving cancer research, cancer support services such as the Northwest Transport to Treatment service and Inala House accommodation for cancer patients.

“As well as our 131 120 support line, which helps provide financial support, counselling services, pro bono legal and help at home services for cancer patients in need. Funds also go towards our cancer prevention and screening programs.

“Highlights from the night for me was just getting to know each star and seeing them already stepping up into the spotlight.

“It was great to hear their personal motivation for being stars – everyone has a different story. They are a fantastic group.”

Sally was excited to say that all 11 stars are well-known and loved locals. The stars include: Jennifer Grant and Amanda Phillips, Khyle Aldridge, Cassidy Staines and Megan Cameron, Lindsey Duncan, Alexandra Conroy, Morgan Jones, Grant Whiting, Cailey Walker and Kristie Toomey.

“We’d like to thank the Narrabri community for their generous support of Cancer Council, and hope they can rally yet again to support this round of local stars,” Sally said.

“The money raised from this event will help the local community and we want to remind anyone living with a cancer diagnosis that they are not alone – we walk beside them every step of the way. Thank you to the Narrabri community for helping us fight for a cancer-free future.”
