St Cyprian’s Church of England, Narrabri, was chosen by Miss Jan Peno, daughter of Mr and Mrs A Peno, of Baan Baa, and Mr Peter Etheridge, son of Mr and Mrs I Etheridge, of Narrabri, for their marriage on Saturday, November 13.

The Reverend R Marshall officiated, with Mrs Marshall at the organ.

The church, decorated by Mrs G Foxe, was a picture of summer, with the blooms of the gladioli and the daisy dominating the scene.

The bride wore a charming frock of white delustred satin, made on simple lines with short sleeves, round neck, fitted bodice and a long skirt.

In a full belle-shape with the pleated back forming the train.

Guipure lace panels on the front and sleeves of the frock added the finishing touch.

The bride’s headdress was a circlet of pink carnations with tiny pink and blue bows, and from this circlet fell her veil.

She carried a bouquet of white carnations.

Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Margaret and Judy, and the tiny flowergirl was seven-year-old Meg Cameron, daughter of Mr and Mrs AB Cameron, of Bellata.

The bridesmaids wore colourful frocks of teal blue crepe satin, with a scooped neckline back and front, short sleeves and a fitted bodice.

The skirt was cut in a slim belle shape style, with the frocks the girls teamed white gloves and shoes and carried pink carnations.

The bridesmaids’ headdresses were the same as that worn by the bride.

The flowergirl was dressed in a long frock of white delustred satin, with a belle skirt, a round neck front and back and short sleeves.

A large blue bow (the same colour as the bridemaids’ frocks), tied at the back of the waistline, and a sash of the same colour fell to the floor.

Meg carried a posy of pink carnations and wore white gloves and shoes.

The groom’s attendants were his brother, Mr Arthur Etheridge, and Mr Phillip Eather both of Narrabri.

Guests were greeted at the reception in the Dangar Village Hall by Mrs Peno and Mrs Etheridge.

Mrs Peno was wearing a very smart ensemble of gunmetal grey pure silk.

The straight frock, embossed with guipure lace panels down the centre front, was covered with a coat of the same fabric.

Black shoes and bag completed the ensemble.

Mrs Etheridge was wearing a delightful dacron frock in a very pretty light blue.

She completed the picture with black accessories.

Before leaving on her honeymoon, the bride changed into a white slub-linen empire line frock.

The frock was straight, and a white rose on the empire line added to its charm.

Over the frock she wore a matching coat and with this, she teamed black accessories.

Mr Athol Booby was chairman at the reception.

The wedding cake was made by Mrs Cameron.

After a honeymoon at Manly, the young couple will make their home in Narrabri.
