It was a nostalgic night full of 90s icons at the St Francis Xavier’s P&F trivia night on Friday, November 28 at the Narrabri Bowling Club.
The 90s theme saw a fantastic crowd of over 100 people who brought their game for the engaging and well-paced trivia and of course some nostalgic music all round.
St Francis Xavier’s P&F secretary Steph Brooker said it was a very fun night and successful in raising funds for the school.
“It was a fantastic night that really brought our wider school community together,” Steph said.
“Many embraced the 90s theme, with everything from Power Rangers to the cast of Friends on display.
“The bright colours, butterfly clips, and fanny packs added a fun and nostalgic vibe to the whole evening.
“We also had a fun bonus round featuring photos of people in the 90s, including some very familiar faces like Michelle O’Connor.
“On top of that, we ran a major raffle with a fantastic range of generous prizes donated by many supportive local businesses.
“It all helped make the night even more enjoyable.”
The committee were able to raise $2700 on the night, a fantastic result.
“These funds will go towards supporting the school by purchasing marquee tents to provide much-needed shade for students during sporting events and other outdoor activities,” Steph said.
Among some of the fantastic costumes on the night, Steph made an honourable mention to the ‘Temu Power Rangers’ team, who fully committed to the theme.
“The award for best dressed went to the cast of Friends, and another honourable mention went to Carmel Harvey, who arrived in full character as Andre Agassi – wig, tennis gear and all.”
Community support is an ongoing contribution for local events like this one and Steph said the events are only possible because of the generosity and involvement shown by Narrabri people.
“It reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of a school where families, staff, and local businesses all come together to create something special for our students,” Steph said.
“The support strengthens our sense of connection and motivates us to keep creating opportunities that benefit the whole school community.
Events like this do not just come about overnight, and on behalf of the St Francis Xavier’s P&F, Steph would like to thank those businesses and local legends who did their part to make it happen.
“We would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors who generously donated raffle prizes, Club Narrabri for providing the venue and their outstanding service,” Steph said.
“Of course, our hardworking P&F committee who dedicated many hours preparing and setting up for a successful night.
“And a special shout out to our MC, Justin Smith, for keeping the event fun and engaging.
“Your support and effort truly made the evening memorable.”
Steph ushers that if anyone would like to join the St Francis Xavier’s P&F, they are more than welcome.
“We would love your support to continue providing opportunities and resources that benefit our children and our wonderful school,” Steph said.
“Finally, we look forward to seeing everyone again at another St Francis Xavier’s trivia night in the future.”
