More champions were crowned at the Narrabri Bowling Club on Saturday when the 2025/26 season’s men’s triples final was contested.

Graham Rose, Larry Scott and Scott Dewar reigned supreme as they beat Col Armstrong, Stuart Coleman and Kevin Baguley 18 shots to 15 across 21 ends.

It was a close contest from start to finish, but the eventual champions only trailed on one of the 21 ends as they held their nerve to get the job done.

Rose, Scott and Dewar made their mark on the match on the first end when they scored one shot to establish the first lead, but Armstrong, Coleman and Baguley then went ahead with a two on the second end before it was all tied up on the third at 2-all.

The two sides then scored a shot each across the next two ends to make the score 3-all, and just when Rose, Scott and Dewar thought they had the momentum behind them when they scored one shot on the sixth end and four more on the seventh to go ahead 8-3, Armstrong,

Coleman and Baguley fired back with three shots on the eighth and one more on the ninth to reduce their deficit to one.

Rose, Scott and Dewar then registered another four on the 10th end to restore a five-shot lead as the scoreboard read 12-7, but their opponents then won four of the next five ends to reduce the deficit to two shots.

No side had yet put three ends together by the 15th end as Rose, Scott and Dewar led 13-11, and it was they who managed to achieve that as they produced one shot on the 16th end and then two on the 17th and the 18th to open up the largest lead of the contest at 18-11.

Armstrong, Coleman and Baguley were determined to fight until the end and that is exactly what they did as they claimed all of the final three ends. It was not enough though as they were only able to score four more shots, and Rose, Scott and Dewar prevailed 18 shots to 15.
