The grand final night once again showcased the strength of the Narrabri Touch community, with spirited competition and sportsmanship out in full force.

Win or Booze was the winner of the B-grade grand final in a 4-1 win against Hounddogs.

Narrabri Touch president Mereka Gleeson thanked all the teams, players, referees and committee members for making this season such a sensational competition.

“A high-spirited touch football evening on Monday night, 22 June saw all grand final teams putting on a competitive display from start to finish,” said Mereka.

Mereka scored the C-grade game and said the match was played in great spirit, with plenty of end-to-end action and some impressive attacking football. She said both teams defended strongly, forcing errors and making every try hard-earned.

Quick ball movement and teamwork proved the difference, as One Hit Wonders managed to create a few extra opportunities to edge ahead.

Mereka said standout performances came from Lachie Hall and Annika Gourley, who consistently made strong runs, sharp touches in defence, and both scored tries.

She said the match highlighted the improving standard of C-grade competition in Narrabri, with every player contributing to an entertaining contest.
