A young woman and a teenage boy have been arrested in relation to separate, recent incidents in Narrabri.

The woman, aged 18, was arrested in Hornsby last week after breaking into a Doyle Street property earlier this month.

She gained entry to the home at 10.30pm on April 4 and stole a vehicle.

On April 5, the vehicle was driven to a petrol station in Bellata before continuing on to Moree.

Police will also allege the vehicle was driven towards Goondiwindi and was identified on point-to-point cameras.

The vehicle was sighted by police north of Moree and a pursuit was engaged by officers.

The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.

At 4.18pm on April 12 at Hornsby Railway Station, the woman was arrested by police.

Police will allege fingerprint analysis conducted on the vehicle matched with the accused.

The woman was charged with aggressive break-and-enter and take and drive without conveyance.

She was refused bail and will appear in court on April 26.

The woman’s arrest was made as part of Operation Western Mongoose, established in the Oxley Police District to combat property crime.

Police made a separate arrest in relation to a high speed pursuit through Narrabri on the Easter long weekend.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Tamworth on Friday, April 14.

Police will allege a car was stolen from Tamworth overnight on April 6 and 7 and was identified by way of video footage.

The vehicle was identified on April 8 and initially involved in a pursuit along Gibbons Street and Violet Street where the driver allegedly started driving on the opposite side of the street near Selina Street.

The pursuit reached high speeds on Maitland Street, through the Narrabri CBD and Tibbereena Street.

When the vehicle approached Narrabri Creek bridge, police allege the stolen vehicle almost collided with oncoming traffic.

The pursuit was terminated due to the dangerous speeds being reached.

The vehicle was later seen near Hinds Street. Police will allege people were witnessed running through a nearby paddock and that the vehicle had been abandoned at the scene.

Video footage depicted the driver of the vehicle, assisting police in their inquiries.

At 2.40pm on Friday, police attended a Tamworth address and located the boy.

He fled the scene on foot and was later located and charged with several offences.

The boy will front court charged with not stopping during a police pursuit, driving a vehicle without a licence, reckless driving, drive without the consent of the owner and enter a vehicle without consent of the owner. Bail was refused at the time.

Police inquiries in relation to other people in the vehicle are continuing.
