The annual CREATE festival is poised to make a grand return for a fourth year and will again celebrate community, creativity and innovation.

This year’s festival will be held across 16 days and is set to transform the shire into a living canvas through its schedule of events.

CREATE this year will embrace a theme of ‘country’, a tribute to indigenous history and rural origins.

This year’s theme invites people to delve into the beauty that defines the landscape.

Festivities will officially get underway with an opening night, featuring live entertainment, to be held at The Crossing Theatre on March 8.

Highlights of the launch celebration include a Walk With Us installation, the exhibition Art After Brain Injury and entertainment by Goldheist.

Narrabri Shire deputy mayor Brett Dickinson said CREATE would offer a unique experience for all.

“Council is thrilled to support this exciting event, which sees our community come together to create and enjoy this festival, which keeps going from strength to strength every year,” Cr Dickinson said.

“From its opening night right through to March 24, this year’s CREATE Festival provides the chance to appreciate our local creativity and is a fantastic opportunity to discover your own – and everyone else’s – hidden artistic talents.”

Craft shops, galleries, exhibitions and creative workshops are among the activities featured in the line-up of this year’s CREATE festival.

As reported by The Courier last week, the festivities will again include the NarraBRIGHT street festival which is set to transform Maitland Street into to a dazzling display of colour.
