Narrabri Bowling Club’s mixed fours comp losers’ section final contested

Tony Redman, Len Ryan, Terry Wilson and Ronnie Dewar are the winners of Narrabri Bowling Club’s mixed fours competition losers’ section final.

They beat Dawn and Col Armstrong, Cindy Neil and Graham Rose 24-9 on Saturday after playing 19 ends.

The semi-finals of the ladies’ club pairs competition were also played on Saturday.

Marie Redman and Helen Woodward outscored Kay Carolan and Glennis Godden 25-9. The game started last Thursday but only three ends had been completed before rain stopped play with Redman and Woodward in front 2-1. The leaders started Saturday well, scoring six shots on the first two ends to lead 8-1, and they went on to claim 10 of the remaining 16 ends to win the match 25-9.

Lisa Pillar and Eva Sadler defeated Cecile and Janet Coleman 33-9 in the other semi-final. Pillar and Sadler won 15 ends of the 19 ends played to cruise to victory.

Meanwhile, the men’s club singles competition will begin on Saturday, October 5. Fixtures are as follows:

9.30am:
Steve Daskey v Stuart Coleman (marker – Tony Redman), Graham Rose v Scott Dewar (marker – Col Armstrong).

1pm:
Richard Little v Len Ryan (marker – Bill Rosewarn).

Social bowls will be played from 1pm on Saturday.
