Lisa Pillar and Eva Sadler are Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2024 season club pairs champions after defeating Marie Redman and Helen Woodward in the final.

They played perfect bowls to win the contest 33-8.

A trophy day was held last Thursday. The winners were Gloria Campey, Tony Redman and Ronnie Dewar, who defeated Dawn Armstrong, Dean Hulbert and Marie Redman. They scored 10 points for the win and 12 for the number of ends won.

Runners-up were Col Armstrong and Berice Eather, who downed Trish Allison and Kay Carolan. They scored 10 points for the win and 12 for the number of ends won, which saw them prevail on a countback from Helen Woodward, David Briggs and Eva Sadler, who beat Joyce Briggs, Doug Mackereth and Lyn Tuckey by a lower margin.

Rhonda Fitzgerald, Stuart Coleman and Di Chessells beat Janet Coleman, Bruce Tomlinson and Cecile in the other game.

In the men’s club singles played on Saturday, Graham Rose defeated Scott Dewar 25-19 and Richard Little outscored Len Ryan 25-20.

Social bowls was played on Saturday afternoon. Joyce Briggs, Dawn Armstrong and Marie Redman beat Keith Stoltenberg, Lyn Wedesweiler and David Briggs 16-11 while Di Chessells and Tony Redman defeated Janice Foxe and Graham Rose 16-14.

Club matches on Saturday, October 12, are as follows:
Minor singles at 9.30am – Bill Rosewarn v Terry Wilson (marker – Stuart Coleman), Bruce Tomlinson v Dean Hulbert (marker – Col Armstrong).

Social bowls will be played from 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
