What a year for Narrabri Polocrosse Club young gun Skye Manning.

The year started early and Skye’s horse Rodge had to be super fit from the get-go as Skye was selected to represent the NSW two mixed side at the Albury Junior Classic and then the NSW junior girls side at the Barrastock Interstate series.

All the hard work was done when Skye and Rodge arrived at Albury, fit and ready to play.

Albury Holbrook Polocrosse Club held a shirt presentation on the Friday night, where Skye met teammates Sidney Keir, Jade McFayden, Ben Caruana, Nikko Anderson and Aidee Thompson,
and their coach Arch Anderson.

The first game was against Queensland and it was a hard fought win for NSW, then the second game was a win to NSW over Northern Territory.

The next day it was a very hard game against Western Australia and NSW lost against the Western Australians.

That set up a game between NSW one and NSW two to qualify for the final, resulting in NSW two winning to set up a rematch against Western Australia.

The final was end to end exciting polocrosse, with Skye and her NSW teammates winning the final.

Skye was awarded the best female number two position player of the final at the presentation

The Narrabri youngster said it was an awesome trip with the best possible outcome.

Next up was the trip to Warwick for the 2025 Barrastock Interstate Series.

Warwick held a meeting and shirt presentation on the Friday night, where Skye met her new teammates Anna Benson, Georgie Cardile, Jade McFaden, Sidney Keir, and Sophia Rose, as well as

their coaches Jane Melbourne and Katie Grills and their manager Jo Hamilton.

The first game was against Queensland and it was a very exciting win to NSW, and the second game was against Western Australia and it was a hard fought loss.

Afterwards, NSW had to wait for the Western Australia v Queensland match, and the results were in Queensland’s favour, which resulted in them being in the final against NSW.

The final saw very exciting polocrosse played by both sides, with Queensland prevailing.

Skye said she enjoyed representing NSW with her beloved Rodge, and she looked forward to hopefully doing so again in 2026.
